SUMMARY:MJV: The Beauty and Resilience of Prairie
DESCRIPTION:Prairies contain incredible beauty and diversity\, though neither is widely recognized by the public. Along with the size and connectivity of habitats\, the biological diversity in prairies creates the ecological resilience needed to help ensure their continued survival. This photo-heavy presentation will delve into the diversity of prairies\, especially within plants and invertebrates\, sharing incredible stories about species and their interactions with each other. Chris will also talk about how we can help prairies build and maintain their ecological resilience\, even in the face of increasing threats. Finally\, he will share some of the results of his year-long project to photograph as much beauty and diversity as he could within a single square meter of Nebraska prairie. \nMore info/Register here.

SUMMARY:Railway Tie Association: Environmental Regulatory Update: A Look Ahead
DESCRIPTION:This webinar will take a look at current and pending changes to environmental regulations\, as well as trends in state and federal policy and enforcement initiatives under the new Biden administration. Regulated industries can expect the new administration to consider action on several areas including chemicals regulation\, climate change\, wetlands\, environmental justice\, and air and waste management. Trump administration rules are expected to be rolled back and replaced with new Executive Orders and legislation. The webinar will also review the impact of Executive Orders that focus on environmental issues and how they may impact the industry. In addition to environmental regulation and enforcement\, the webinar will discuss the increasing attention to issues such as environmental\, social\, and governance (ESG)\, sustainability\, climate risk\, and renewable energy. Disclosure of ESG information has for some time been a voluntary\, market-driven process led by investors and shareholders. However\, with the Biden administration focus on climate change\, industries of all sizes can expect to see rules on mandatory ESG disclosures and climate risk reporting in the coming years.\n\n\n\nRegister here.

SUMMARY:PV Plus: Amplifying the Sustainability and Biodiversity Benefits of Solar
DESCRIPTION:Demand for solar energy continues to accelerate. Signed power purchase agreements exceeding 70 GW will result in more than 500\,000 acres of new PV solar by the end of 2024\, with millions more acres to follow. But bare ground or turfgrass on solar facilities can contribute to the widespread decline in biodiversity\, causing new challenges to the sustainability of ecosystems and agriculture. \nIn this webcast\, forward-thinking energy advocates and buyers will tell how they are using procurement to accelerate innovation in the solar industry and realize additional environmental lift for their projects and brands. \nMore info here.
