SUMMARY:The Pillars of Great Pollinator Habitat Design and Management
DESCRIPTION:Join PARM and the Sand County Foundation’s first webinar collaboration! \nMany farms have field edges or underperforming areas that could be seeded to native grasses and wildflowers to benefit bees and butterflies. This presentation will cover the most important considerations to how a pollinator habitat project should be designed\, planted and managed. Learn how great habitat results can be easily achieved with a little planning and consideration on the front-end of the project. \nYou will hear from Pete Berthelsen\, Pete serves as partnership director for The Bee & Butterfly Habitat Fund and provides consulting services for wildlife and pollinator habitat needs through Conservation Blueprint\, LLC. Pete previously spent 26 years with Pheasants Forever\, most recently as director for habitat projects. He has also worked with the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources\, U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service in North Dakota\, Texas Parks & Wildlife Department\, and the U.S. Forest Service in Michigan. He received his B.S. from University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point and his M.S. from Texas Tech University in wildlife science. \nTo register click here.

SUMMARY:Cover Crops for Soil and Water Quality Improvement
DESCRIPTION:Cover crops are an important conservation practice for improving soil health and water quality. They can be very effective in scavenging residual nitrate and other nutrients from the soil\, reducing the amount of nitrate leaching from the bottom of the root zone into drainage waters. Cover crops also improve soil physical and biological properties\, increase water infiltration and reduce soil erosion. Widespread adoption of cover crops could have significant benefits to water quality and soil health across agricultural lands. \nPresenter:  \nDr. Eileen J. Kladivko\, Professor of agronomy at Purdue University \nTo register click here.

SUMMARY:CEATI International: 5th Annual Vegetation Management Conference
DESCRIPTION:The effective management of vegetation on transmission and distribution corridors is essential for providing a reliable supply of electricity and for ensuring public and worker safety. Comprehensive and effective vegetation management programs must address several issues. These programs must comply with new and emerging regulations\, meet public and landowner expectations\, and consider various environmental issues. Furthermore\, vegetation management programs involve responding to the public\, indigenous communities\, the government\, and landowner requests and concerns. At the same time\, it must also comply with NERC and other regulations in a cost-effective manner. \nA focus of the 5th Annual Vegetation Management Conference will be on the various technologies\, techniques\, and equipment that are being developed or are currently available to Vegetation Managers.
