SUMMARY:Monarch Butterfly Monitoring Webinar
DESCRIPTION:Each year\, monarch butterflies make a dramatic migration from their overwintering sites in California and Mexico to breed in areas across North America. But exactly where these butterflies travel during this migration\, and when\, is still not entirely clear. Understanding the nuances of the monarch migration is a vital step in establishing suitable habitat and creating a better future for the species. \nJoin the Southwest Monarch Study (SWMS) and the North American Pollinator Protection Campaign (NAPPC) for this free upcoming webinar to learn about the latest in monarch butterfly monitoring and how you can get involved in this important community science program. Gail Morris from the SWMS will provide an overview of how this effort is improving our knowledge of monarch movements across the landscape in the Southwestern US\, and how managed lands can play a role in providing both monarch habitat and data.
