Monarch Conservation Database tutorial webinar

Monarch Joint Venture has developed a database to capture information about recently (i.e. since 2014) completed, ongoing and planned conservation efforts for the monarch butterfly. Conservation efforts are on-the-ground actions designed to improve the population status of monarchs. This includes improving and creating habitat by enhancing milkweed and blooming nectar plant resources. The database will help the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service and conservation partners assess conditions for the monarch now and into the future, across the United States.

Register for access to the MCD web application
The first step to register for access to the database web application is to send an email to FW3_monarchconservation@fws.gov. In the email include the following information:

  1. First and last name
  2. Organization (or indicate that you are a private individual)
  3. Email address
  4. Phone number (which is optional – this just gives us another way to contact you)

Before providing us with your information, you may prefer to read the disclaimers that describe how we use your information and your privacy rights. The disclaimers are available below.

After sending the registration request, you will receive an email from the Fish and Wildlife Service’s Environmental Conservation Online System (ECOS) Helpdesk with:

  1. A link to login to the ECOS public website
  2. A temporary password (your user name will be the email address you provided)
