Railway Tie Association: Environmental Regulatory Update: A Look Ahead
March 3, 2021 @ 1:00 pm - 2:00 pm CST
This webinar will take a look at current and pending changes to environmental regulations, as well as trends in state and federal policy and enforcement initiatives under the new Biden administration. Regulated industries can expect the new administration to consider action on several areas including chemicals regulation, climate change, wetlands, environmental justice, and air and waste management. Trump administration rules are expected to be rolled back and replaced with new Executive Orders and legislation. The webinar will also review the impact of Executive Orders that focus on environmental issues and how they may impact the industry. In addition to environmental regulation and enforcement, the webinar will discuss the increasing attention to issues such as environmental, social, and governance (ESG), sustainability, climate risk, and renewable energy. Disclosure of ESG information has for some time been a voluntary, market-driven process led by investors and shareholders. However, with the Biden administration focus on climate change, industries of all sizes can expect to see rules on mandatory ESG disclosures and climate risk reporting in the coming years.
