From Ideation to Validation: Assessing the Landscape for Validating Wildlife Collision Risk Minimization Technologies
Are you curious about how wind energy companies and regulators work together to produce wildlife-responsible renewable energy to your home? Are you an engineer or wind energy technology company interested in putting your ideas to reduce wind-wildlife conflicts into practice? ย This webinar will familiarize participants with ย the current landscape that shapes how scientists and technology entrepreneurs bring their ideas to reduce risks to birds and bats from conception to practice. Registrants will hear about REWIโs most recent publication, โAccelerating technology development to monitor and minimize effects from land-based wind energy on birds and bats,โ an overview of the process for using minimization technologies, and then will hear two real-world examples from two current technologies in the REWI Technology Catalog: EchoSense and IdentiFlight.
The webinar will follow up with a discussion on the challenges that still exist presently to achieving validation toward the use of effective technologies in renewable energy developments across the United States and the Globe to protect wildlife and their habitats.
