Positive Change for Biodiversity: The New Bumblebee Conservation Agreement for Energy and Transportation Lands
Tuesday, June 18, 2024
11:00AM-12:00PM CDT
Bumble bees and other pollinators are representative of global biodiversity loss. Threatened by habitat loss and environmental degradation, several species are already listed while others are under consideration for listing under the federal Endangered Species Act (ESA).
To counteract this biodiversity loss, the University of Illinois Chicago’s (UIC) Sustainable Landscapes team, Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources (WDNR), the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service (USFWS), Stantec, representatives across energy and transportation lands, and non-governmental organizations have worked diligently over the past year to create the At-Risk Bumble Bee Conservation Benefit Agreement for Energy and Transportation Lands. This agreement focuses on 11 different bumble bee at-risk species and aligns with the conservation efforts of the Monarch CCAA.
In this webinar, we will share an overview of this new agreement, enrollment considerations, and how to support this exciting conservation effort. Please join us on June 18th to learn more!
